Examine your perspective: Deciding between short code and long code
When you want to start business texting, you first need to carefully consider the sort of messages you intend to send. No matter what, you don’t want to use your own personal phone or number to do it. You then need to obtain either a short code or long code number.
Short code and long code each have distinct purposes and advantages in marketing and communication. So your choice really depends on how you see your texting needs. Above all,

Short code SMS

Carriers approve all short code numbers, so messages a business sends via this method aren’t blocked for being spam and the number isn’t subject to suspension or carrier violations. That is, they aren’t if you follow the CTIA short code regulations.
Short code works great when you want to send marketing messages only and need one-way communication. No need to worry about personalizing texts with short code.
These advantages of short code, however, are also its disadvantages. When we receive a short code message, we know it’s not from a real person. So we tend to ignore it and move on. There’s no real engagement between the sender and the recipient.
Long code SMS
